God created man in His image and likeness. Man was the crown of creation. He was created with the faculty of intellect, specific only to man. He was bestowed with free mind by the omniscient God. This differentiated him from the rest of the creation. It is education that enables us to realize that we are created in the image and likeness of God.

Education has a social dimension. Weidner Memorial Senior Secondary School was established in the year 1975, in the memory of late Monsignor John Weidner SAC, the first Bishop of Raipur, with this aspect, to cater to the educational needs of the society here. Over the years hundreds of students have stepped out of this School to shoulder their responsibilities towards the society and the nation at large.

The rapid changes in the world have influenced the concepts and approaches towards education. But one must remember that the goal of education does not change. The values remain the same.
